The Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ government has proposed amendments to Chapter 9 of the Constitution that, if approved, would allow either the Ka:’yu:’k’t’h Tyee Ha’wilth or the Che:k’tles7et’h’ Tyee Ha’wilth to initiate a process for Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations to divide into separate nations in accordance with a mutual independence law enacted by the Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ Legislature.
