Event Information
INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE REGISTERED STATUS INDIANS UNDER THE INDIAN ACT AND BELONG TO ANOTHER FIRST NATION ARE ENTITLED TO BE TRANSFERRED TO CURVE LAKE FIRST NATION IF THE MAJORITY OF VOTES CAST BY ELIGIBLE VOTERS, VOTE IN FAVOUR OF ACCEPTING THE INDIVIDUAL.
All eligible voters have the option to vote members from other First Nations into Curve Lake First Nation. Transfers are only voted on during the Curve Lake First Nation's General Election - June 20, 2022.
There are three (3) methods in which members may vote. In person at the polling station, election via OneFeather (https://onefeather.ca/nations/curvelake) or through mail-in ballot.
All off reserve eligible voting members (of whom we have a current address) will receive a mail-in voting package. It is the members/voters responsibility to provide Curve Lake First Nation with their current mailing address. On reserve members who wish to receive a mail-in ballot package may contact me at 705-657-8045 or LoisT@curvelake.ca.
